Warm your home
Its that time of year again, all of us look to spice up our homes and create inviting rooms for all of our loved ones to share.
There are a lot of great colors on the market, but choosing the right one can be a challenge. If you have certain colors that you tend to decorate your home with, it is a good idea to stick within the color schemes. For example, should you have blue sofas that may have a design in say maroon. To help make the sofas stand out more and create a warm affect, you may want to see about a maroon color for your walls. A good way to find the right color or one close, would be to take a picture of your furniture with you to the store. This will help out a lot. Maybe you use certain accent colors in throw pillows or curtains that would make a great color for your walls, if the pillow is small enough, you can take one with you to the store, this will help you find just the right color. Curtains may be a little more difficult to take with you. Again, reach for camera, a picture will help. You can then bring home samples that you think might work, then you can check with other furnishings and decorations.
Painting can always make your home look fresh and alive once again. It helps to create clean lines and give new direction to a room. A rule to remember, if a room is small go with lighter colors, this will help the room to look larger than it is, darker colors make a room look smaller but can also warm up the room depending on the tones you are going for.
If you are looking to paint the outside of your home, go with colors that help your home have flow. Dark colors draw in heat, light colors seem to help keep your home cooler. Keep it simple.
