Many different staircases grace our homes
Ranging from spiral, straight, quadrantal, circular, portable or suspended, the type of staircase you may want depends on the style of your home and what looks good. There are different types of wood used in our homes and businesses such as Pinewood to name one.
Pinewood tends to be cheaper than any other but requires more attention, each staircase has two main parts, the landing and then the steps, extra decorations include railings and balusters. So you have an idea what a baluster is that is the part which provides protection on the open side of the stair.
Straight staircases are mostly found in new built homes,
Quadrantal has a 90 degree turnig angle, this type of staircase will save you some space in your house.
Circular staircases requires a bit more room inside your home,it is said this specific type would be great for your interrior design, these should also be built on as an addition.
When picking out your staircases however it is best to use wood as it is more sturdy and firm like, it is long term and light weight.
Plywood or natrual wood can be used as steps on the stairs, the steps can be fumed with different paints and varnished with different oils and varnishers.
Tools that you may need while building the staircases are a square, tape measure, level, tape, and a circular hack saw. It is important that you have a design planned before doing anything, this way your less likely to mess up and you can stick to the plan, keep the design simple, this will make it easier if your a first time staircase builder.
You will need to measure the rise, run and number of stairs you need Measuring the rise of the stairs is found by measuring the vertical distance between the top of your floor to point on the next level where the stairs will end.
Determining the number of stairs needed is found by dividing the total rise by the height you wish each stair to have. Finding the run of the stairs is found by multiplying the total width of a stair, once done you can start cutting and building your staircase.
